TallPockets
I remember standing off aways, holding our sweet baby boy, while everyone else was telling Chuck goodbye. All along I had been promising myself I would not cry, because that would be sad for my husband, but it didn't work out that way. Finally Chuck was alone, everyone standing away while we said our goodbyes. I was in his strong, wonderful arms and my tears just started to flow. I was so mad at myself. I just didn't want to let go and neither did he, but at last it was time for him to go.
So many of those songs that year became some of my favorites, because they said what I was feeling.
Oh my, I have to close. Those memories have brought on the tears again. It's not your fault at all, just one of those things that touches those deep seeded memories that will be with me forever.
God Bless,
Karen
I also had a first cousin who came back MENTALLY messed up. He married a GREAT gal and had a one year old FIRST child and SON. He soon after that, committed suicide.
Tell HUBBY that OLD GRUMPY TallPockets spent TWO lovely days and nights in DOWNTOWN DETROIT on 10-Sept.70 (Military talk). He PASSED his physical there but was not 'drafted' by the SLIMMEST margins with the LOTTERY in place at the time.
SALUTE to HUBBY for HIS SERVICE to ME and ALL Americans!!!
FOREVER GRATEFUL for those who SERVE yours,
TallPockets.

I saw a video the other day with Bobby Sherman in it, it was a milk commercial. Shame on me!!! I couldn't remember the guys name. It wasn't until I read your list that I remembered the name.
I still love Gary Puckett and the Union Gap and Jay and the Americans.
